Somebody lands on a deep page from a search, having never seen your site. A line at the top — Home › Services › Bathroom fitting — says where the page sits and gives one tap back up. Google reads that same trail from the page's BreadcrumbList markup and can print it under your title instead of a bare web address. There is no built-in way to add that markup; Breadcrumbs builds both from one list of crumbs, so they cannot disagree. Drop the widget on a page. It reads the page's address and shows you every step it derived, in a field you can type over. Your wording wins, in every language your site speaks, and is never translated. A URL is not always a sentence a human wrote. If a step looks like a duplicated page, an editor suffix, an unnamed page, a bare id or a language code, the widget says so and holds the markup back until you have looked — while the trail still shows. Correct markup does not guarantee a breadcrumb in your search result: Google decides, and it ignores markup that disagrees with the page. For any site more than one level deep.
